Love Like Ours - #694 Streisand,
Barbara 1999 Columbia 9/21/99 Bab's voice soars like always but the sappy
content soon sours the tone of this effort.
The constant line notes about her hubby and new found soul companion
makes this a quick bore. Hubby James
Brolin gets more cover exposure on this album than Babs does. Wonder what she'll say about it when he
leaves. Purchased: 11/1/99 -

People - #271 Striesand,
Barbara 1969 Columbia 1/1/69 Babs hit the chart with the title song. She took paranoia and made it a
sound. Broadway has never had such
luck. Her nose and sound carried the
Broadway musical sound into the America Lexicon. Before, Broadway music was pop, after Babs it was a style. Purchased: 3/1/91 - J&R

Fever Pitch - #626 String Fever 1991 Koch 6/12/91 A close out value. Sting orchestra with a natch for Jazz with a Jazz orchestra sound. Wonderful change from the run of the mill
stuff. Purchased: 2/12/96 - Tower
Outlet $1.99 Rated: 4 |
Primal Magic - #420 Strunz &
Farah 1990 Mesa 1/1/90 This might be a 4 if you are in the mood to listen
to it. The first "hit" of a
World Beat album in the 1990's. Good
guitar with a Spanish accent. I like
it every once in a while. There are
times that I cannot take it and there are other times that I love it. Today I loved it. Purchased: 6/1/90 - J&R
$12.99 Rated: 3 |
Four Seasons, The - #38 Stuttgarter
Kammeror 1987 London 1/1/73 This was my favorite album for the longest
time. I have heard the 4 seasons from
this and over and over and over again at William Lipton LTD so much that I
have a hard time liking it anymore Purchased: 4/1/87 - $9.99 Rated: 4 |

Submedia - #646 Submedia 1990 9Winds 1/1/90 Electronic dreams and musings. It is a refreshing break of new age into
Jazz, with too much of a progressive bent to make it a 4. Purchased: 6/10/96 -
J&R $4.99 Rated: 3 |

Global House - #2 Svag, Oystein 1995 Windham Hill 1/1/95 Really good world beat music. Australian sounds, mixed with just about
everything else Purchased: 4/15/95 -

Compact Jazz - #101 Swingle
Singers 1966 Mercury 1/1/66 The 1950's doo-woop done in Jazz. This music was dreamy back group vocals
done for a great many movie mood moments.
This group is the best of a genre that has all but disappeared. Vocal harmony that blends and overcomes
background instruments. The human
voice used as an instrument in a more pure sense. La da dums and so forth. Purchased: 1/1/88 - J&R
$8.99 Rated: 4 |
Electronic Realizations For Rock Orchestra - #407 Synergy 1975 Passport 1/1/75 Excellent electronic music. Where have we all heard this played? Was it on the Cosmos Series by Carl
Sagan? I think so. It stands will on it's own. Its stands even better when associated
with a visual theme. This is artistry
that did not gain a large commercial market.
I am glad I found it. It is
full of liver verve and presentation. Legacy, the first selection, is a good piece of music, memorable. It deserves permanence. Purchased: 1/8/92 - Tower
