Born In  The U. S. A.  - #222

Springsteen, Bruce

1984 Columbia 1/1/84

"Born" was the biggest hit of Bruce and everyone thought it was a tribute to being an American.  It was really a protest song, but not many seemed to notice.  A very good album, if you LOVE R&R, this is a great album.  Bruce is a Dylan of sort for the New Jersey working class.   " I'm looking for a lover who will come on in an cover me ".

Greatest Hits - #513

Springsteen, Bruce

1995 Columbia 1/1/95

Bruce!  A collection of a rocker's life time of work.  This man is a star but he deserves to be a superstar.   Someday he will get the rock renown he warrants  Poetry about blue collar life and R&R too.  Excellence in contemporary music.

Tunnel Of Love - #236

Springsteen, Bruce

1987 Columbia 1/1/87

Good love songs from the Poet of New Jersey.  Like it,  with the E-Street band.  He deserved to gain more fame and eventually wrote music for the movies.  But in the rest of the world I think he is relatively unknown.

Best Of Sting 1984-1994, The Fields of Gold- #518

Sting

1994 A&M 1/1/94

I like this guy a lot better when I here one or two of his songs at a time.  Good work here but he gets monotonous after a while.  The same type is the same song, all 14 of them

Brand New Day - #695

Sting

1999 A&M 9/28/99

Song of the Year on this one?  Really?  Who are all these Grammy voters who rated this so highly.  Not me that is for sure.  This album is barely a 3, but then it might be a 4 if one song could be listened to at a time.  The rest of the songs could be held and maybe relished later

It's My Time - #71

Stone, Evelyn McGee

1990 Atlantic 1/1/89

One time a force in Jazz I suppose but this album reveals an aging lounge singer.  Nothing wrong with that but there is no magic from what I hear on this.

Solid ColorsPiano Solos - #454

Story, Liz

1982 Windham Hill 1/1/82

I waffle between a 2 and 3 rating for this.  It is good piano but I am not sure there is any drama to the music.  I see this album cover and never think that it is good enough to put it on.  Ingo, the guest from Germany, though I might enjoy this artist but he was not very right

I thought I was going to like this because of it's relationship to 2001, A Space Odyssey, but I don't it is more that too much for me

Back To Broadway - #238

Streisand, Barbara

1993 Columbia 1/1/85

Babs took her wonderful Broadway voice and made it here signature.  Broadway comes to main street.  She excels, can't take her arrogance, can take her voice.  This album has the really good Broadway stuff.  Babs do it as only babs can do.  Who has a greater Broadway signature sound than babs?  Only Ethyl Merman but Dads has a better voice.

Purchased: 8/17/93 - Columbia House $16.68
