Gently - #466

Minnelli, Liza

1996 Angel 1/1/96

If you like Liza you will love this. Themed to reflect her adolescent yearnings but these are adult songs.  Others people may only like one or two of the numbers

Liza Live From Radio City Music Hall - #263

Minnelli, Liza

1992 Columbia 1/1/92

Liza, where are you now in the late 90's?  You seem to have gone to pieces just like your mother.  You are a great one.  Put you on a stage and you become vital to the audience, a living part of them you shine there.  You do stories the best, tell me one about the little girl that is you - tell us more stories about others too.  This is what you do best musically.

Liza With A "Z" - #210

Minnelli, Liza

1972 Columbia 1/1/72

Great show album, made for TV, this woman can sell a story but not sell a song.  If she sings a story, the song becomes important and you want to hear what she has to say about it.  If she doesn't have a story then it might not be too good.  Wish I could see her do it again.  Where is she now?  Seems to have disappeared into the 1990's.  She has followed here mother's, Judy Garland's, path.  She is a wonder.

Purchased: 1/1/89 - Columbia House $11.99

Singer, The - #211

Minnelli, Liza

1973 Columbia 1/1/73

Somehow this seems better today, January 30th 1999, than it ever has.  I am not sure why.  I owned this on vinyl and played it only now and again as a fan of Liza.  Now it sounds good.  Is it the songs, I guess so, and maybe it's my want to see her again out and about and performing.  Used to think it a 3 but today it is a 4. The arrangement seems like live music now.  Maybe it's because this is my first hearing on my computer system.  Somehow the sound is fuller.

Both Sides Now  - #714

Mitchell, Joni

The woman who writes all of her own music finally does some great ones other than her own. BUT, the version of Both Sides Now is one to die for, the one to buy this album for, GREAT!

Miles of Aisles - #301

Mitchell, Joni

1974 Asylum

This woman has a beautiful voice.  She writes music that fits her voice and makes it sung at the most beautiful.  "Woodstock", "Big Yellow Taxi" and a few other masterpieces of the 60's are on this live performance collection of a master song writer.

Chant - #650

Monks Of Santo Domingo de Silos

1982 Angel

An album that broke out as a Pop hit in Europe and then spread to the USA.  It is good chant, no one ever understands why these things break out to become huge hits and huge moneymakers for someone.  There is hope for culture after all.
