Concierto - #462 Hall, Jim 1975 CBS 4/16/75 Good, a classic.
Classical jazz. A gift from Ingo.
A German guest who stay at the apartment. Purchased: 1/1/86 – Gift
$11.99 Rated: 4 |
Saxophone Animals - #589 Halley, Rich 1990 9Winds 1/1/90 Saxophone polynomials, improvisational and
improvising. If you are Jazz egghead
you might like this but there is little interest for me here. Making musical noise, not of joy just of
noise Sounds that represent scenes
but only that, no R&B, no beat just blaring trying to say (something) Purchased: 6/6/96 – J&R
$1.99 Rated: 2 |

Messiah (Complete Oratorio) - #171 Handel 1984 Telarc 12/18/84 Handle said “ I indeed did see Heaven” when he
wrote the Hallelujah chorus. I say
Amen to this. Wondrous passion for
the Christian Soul, western music wonders for all else. Purchased: 11/10/92 –

Days and Nights of Blue Luck I - #406 Hanrahan,
Kip 1988 Pangaea 1/1/88 A cutout, OK, some interesting stuff here Purchased: 1/1/91 – Tower
Records $4.99 Rated: 1 |
Middle Of Nowhere - #546 Hanson 1997 Mercury 1/1/97 Gift from Gloria.
Bubble Gum music for the 90’s.
I love it, Phil Spector’s “wall of sound” lives for almost 40 years
already. Full sound, lots of rock and
roll. Overproduced, too bad, it would
be a 5 otherwise. Purchased: 12/25/97 – Gift
$12.99 Rated: 4 |
Battle Of The Blues, Volume 2 14 Blues Hits,
Volume 2- #326 Harris &
Brown 1988 King Good blues and a good sampling of what makes one
like the blues. The King label
carried these soul stirrers during the 50’s and 60’s. Where are the blues now? Just hiding and waiting to burst out into
popularity once again. Purchased: 1/1/86 - $9.99 Rated: 4 |

Trio II Trio Two- #618 Harris,
Ronstadt, Parton 1999 Asylum 2/2/99 “After The Gold Rush” makes this album a 4. Otherwise it is a 3, my taste not leaning
to country. It is fun though. Dolly lightens each song with her lilt and
make me smile. Without that pep in
the songs it would be common. 3 stars
do indeed make a TRIO in capital letters.
This is fun. Purchased: 3/2/99 –

Cloud Nine - #449 Harrison,
George 1987 Dark Horse A good outing for the quiet Beatle. He has the help of producers who are
faithful to his style and abilities. It
is a memorable album for a basic unmemorable member of the Beatles. It is out of catalog in 1998 as I write
this. Will it be reissued again? Maybe, maybe too soon. The man announced he had throat cancer
this year. Sigh, age and violence
will get us all, even the remaining Beatles. Purchased: 1/1/88 –
Columbia House $13.99 Rated: 4 |
Tongues and Tailes - #250 Hawkins,
Sophie 1991 Columbia 4/7/92 Common pop music by a breathing one. She sighs and huffs at the right sexual moment.
Bought this one because I heard her on the Madison Square Garden tribute to
Dylan in 1992 – she sang “I Want You”.
Great pop artists were there, is she considered one? Not in my opinion but good voice. Maybe she should sing songs other than her
own. (Its an ailment for all pop
singers today, they want to record their own music to get the royalty every
time they are played – a mistake – writers don’t always sing well. And visa versa. Purchased: 1/22/93 –
