Flight Of The Cosmic Hippo - #129 Fleck, Bella;
& the Flecktones 1991 Warner Bros 1/1/91 Joop Paemen, my friend AMEX from the Netherlands
bought this one and played it at his home.
He joked about it but I went out and bought my own copy and liked it
and then bought another album by the same group. Novel and interesting, it is jazz banjo that tickles the
cranium. You cannot like this in all
moods but it is wonderful when you are in the right one. Purchased: 12/26/91 -
J&R $15.99 Rated: 4 |
UFO TOFU - #445 Fleck, Bella;
& the Flecktones 1992 Warner Bros 1/1/92 Joop Paemen, my friend from the Netherlands,
introduced me to this group, he didn't like the album that he had. I like it enough to go out an buy my own
copy. Fleck is novel jazz because it
uses instruments like the banjo with some heavy beats put in for rhythm. It is enjoyable to anyone who might have
eclectic musical tastes It's rated
this high because of the musical novelty. Purchased: 9/4/92 - $14.99 Rated: 4 |
Robben Ford And The Blue Line - #434 Ford, Robben; 1992 Stretch 1/1/92 Guitar riffs and a heavy beat. Ok, so what else is new. Purchased: 9/1/92 - J&R

Best Of Fourplay, The - #535 Fourplay 1997 Warner Bros 1/1/97 Sigh. More
light jazz but some pieces and vocals are appealing. A 3 is hard to give but I like the
vocals. Sigh, sign me musically
unchallenged by this one. It would be
better if it did not have the technical drums, etc. A vocal or two sound like Stevie Wonder. Purchased: 12/16/97 -
Columbia House $19.98 Rated: 3 |
Aretha In Paris - #715 Franklin,
Aretha Rhino 10/1/68 Aretha live is like noting else. The recording techniques are primitive by the
standards of the year Two Thousand but the voice shines through, if there
could be more. It's great to see this
young artist move the audience and makes us sad that she doesn't know how yet
to work them. Purchased: 5/20/00 -
J&R $7.99 Rated: 4 |
Aretha's Jazz - #718 Franklin,
Aretha 1984 Atlantic Jazz 1/1/84 A wonderful bit of Jazz, not enough of it. This is Aretha, how can we have enough of
her. "Just Right
Tonight" gives us the best
shouting she has done Purchased: 5/20/00 -
J&R $7.99 Rated: 4 |
