Soft Parade, The - #82 Doors, The 1975 Elektra 1/1/75 The Doors meet stringed instruments, not too many
thank goodness. Success always seems
to get strings in the background.
Rating this album against all others it is the least impressive but
still great Purchased: 1/1/87 -
Columbia House $12.99 Rated: 4 |
Strange Days - #300 Doors, The 1975 Elektra 1/1/67 I Flipped when I heard this. Musical defiance and poetry by the very
bad boy Jim Morrison. Saw this music
with Donnie Moen at the Minneapolis Armory.
Doors were vulgar, but good.
In the 60's the "f" word upset a lot of people and a lot of
them walked out. The warm up band was
"Chicago" before they became big and well known, they were not good
on stage - they made a good warm-up for this group of all super groups. Purchased: 1/1/85 -
Columbia House $12.99 Rated: 5 |
Waiting For The Sun - #137 Doors, The 1968 Elektra 1/1/68 Morrison, with his sinister voice and reputation
could make anything sound erotic.
Good Morrison voice and poetry.
The excess of Rock and Roll success and human addition had taken it's
toll by the time this album was recorded.
It is not the same excellence as the earlier albums but it is still
excellence. Jim why aren't you still
with us? Purchased: 1/1/86 - $12.99 Rated: 5 |
