Porgy And Bess - #232 Davis, Miles 1958 Columbia 1/1/58 I bought this after hearing "Kind Of
Blue" and expected the same ground breaking excellence. Didn't get it so I was initially
disappointed. Not now, this is Davis taking
on something that is almost opera type
classical and written by a White Man, he takes it into his realm of
knowledge and works it. The opera
becomes jazz for the last half of the 20th century. I think Gershwin would have liked it. Purchased: 1/1/91 - J&R
