Abbey Road - #563 Beatles, The 1969 Apple 1/1/70 This is one album that I did not own on
vinyl. It is the best produced of all
the 'regular' albums, i.e., single disks, non compilation, remix etc. It is their swan song, last album recorded
as a coherent whole. Yoko Ono had
taken her toll by now. John loved her
more than the group and there fire in the belly Beatles ceased to exist. Purchased: - Wiz $11.99 Rated: 5 |
Beatles Anthology 1, The - #581 Beatles, The 1995 Apple 11/21/95 This covers years 1958 to 1965. The Beatles were struggling to be
known. Some of these pieces are
curiosities but others are real gems.
You can see from the beginning that their sound was new, jelled early
on. It is apparent when George Martin
stepped in. Here you hear them stop
singing others music and switch over to almost exclusively their own. Thank goodness for that this group is our
generation. Purchased: 9/14/95 -

Beatles Anthology 2, The - #564 Beatles, The 1995 Apple 3/19/96 This covers years 1965 to 1967. The Beatles were already a phenomenon so
there is a better musical history to reflect there creativity and transitions
from group to artist individuals in there own right. A very good selection of takes that are
distinctly different from release versions. Purchased: 10/1/96 -

Beatles Anthology 3, The - #690 Beatles, The 1996 Apple 10/29/96 The different take on the songs make this an album
of new Beatles material from my perspective.
It is a wonder to hear the different approach because their talent is
reinforced Purchased: 11/1/99 -

Beatles For Sale - #562 Beatles, The 1964 Apple 1/1/64 Beatles for Sales was not initially released for the
American Market. All the songs were
in the States but not on this album.
The music was on singles, extended play albums but not together. Musically the group was totally
professional by this time and starting to mature as artists. Purchased: - Wiz $11.99 Rated: 5 |
Beatles, 1962-1966, The - #3 Beatles, The 1993 Capitol We've listened to the Beatles all of our
lives. All these songs are hits,

Beatles, The White Album,
The S/N:184155- #288 Beatles, The 1968 Parlophone 1/1/68 Excellence here too. This was the "masterpiece" number 2 after Sgt. Pepper
but it is not the same quality masterpiece.
The quality of the music does not suffer, indeed it shines. However, the theming here is not thorough
and throughout as it was in Pepper.
This fact reflects the group's beginning lack of interest in the group, the beginning of the end,
musically, of the Beatles, they did not take the care in making this album
the greatest. At the start they were
individuals, then a group, than an institution. This is the first step down too a group. Still wonderful music. My favorite Harrison piece is here -
"My Guitar Gently Weeps." Purchased: 9/10/84 - Sam

Hard Day's Night, A - #623 Beatles, The 1964 Parlaphone 1/1/63 The first really big Beatles album in the US. When they hit in the USA there were about
5 record companies claiming firsts and contracts with the group. Capital won, this re-release is under
Parlaphone header. The songs are not
complicated or sophisticated here but they are great Pop and Rock and
Roll. Simple, as it all started. I still have the original vinyl of this
one. Purchased: 4/4/97 - J&R
