Taking It Home - #39 Buckwheat
Zydeco 1988 Island 1/1/88 First heard this sound in New Orleans with Lisa
Dobrus. It is local folk music of the
19th and 20th Century. A mix of Cajun
and county. Great music, a good
album. It's not heard much out of New
Orleans so it is new to just about everyone. Purchased: 10/3/93 - $15.99 Rated: 4 |
Le Mystère Des Voix Bulgares Mystery of the
Bulgarian Voice- #138 Bulgarian
State Radio Choir 1987 Elektra 1/1/87 Really a mystical appeal, some of the most
beautiful strange music I have heard.
What ever happened to the introduction to this stuff on NPR. New music is so hard to find since NPR
started to talk too much. Purchased: 1/1/88 - J&R
$12.99 Rated: 4 |

Winds Of Change - #629 Burdon, Eric;
and The Animals 1968 One Way Records 1/1/68 A wow of an album in 1968 when I first heard the
this. It was the first Burdon I
bought and his blue eyed soul wowed me.
The beats of the songs wowed me, the thoughtfulness of the lyrics
wowed me. Thirty years later the
album seems a bit dated. It might not
seem so if the original was mixed as a, or had more, theme. It is wonderful. "The Black Plaque" was the first rock music that I
think of that gave a story. Purchased: 4/12/97 - $10.99 Rated: 5 |
Eric Burdon Declares "WAR" - #415 Burdon, Eric;
War 1970 Avenue 3/1/70 A really great Jazz debut for War. Really R&B I suppose but it is very
good and improvisional. Excellent way
to get WAR launched. Purchased: 4/17/93 -
J&R Rated: 5 |
Eric Burdon Sings The Greatest Animals Hits - #409 Burton, Eric 1988 Pair Purchased: 8/17/93 -
