Historical Anthology, Goldberg Variations Late Baroque Period - #401 Bach, J S 1992 Vanguard Classic 1/1/92 This is not bad if you like harpsichord but for me too much harpsichord is more than 30 minutes. This is too much harpsichord. Not a bad listen if you are into such things. I bought this album after Bach Goldberg variations were listed as a must have in every music collection CD in Entertainment Weekly Magazine. But, oh, no, here again is the background beat sound in the foreground on most of the album. That beat is more than I can like and it makes me move this very good album down from excellent to very good – I think maybe it should be a good – 5 rating to 4 rating to a 3 rating. Dances With Wolves - #463 Barry, John 1990 Epic Associate 11/13/90 A movie masterpiece for the times. And certainly the directorial piece for Mr. Costner. Won Best Picture and Best Actor. It is high western drama with a 1990’s point of view. Too bad, otherwise it would be perfect. The buffalo hunt scene is the best one ever recorded and this music reflects all of the movies majesty and beauty.
